Apple releases a minor software update, fixing a security issue involving SSL verification, though Apple has not said been ultra-specific about what the issue was. It seems it was important enough to release to the masses now, rather than to just bundle it in the much larger, upcoming iOS 7.1 update, which has been in beta testing for months. Many Apple product users have been eager to get their paws on iOS 7.1 for the reported design enhancements and to fix a bug that causes devices to restart at random during use.

Reports are that iOS 7.1 will be available sometime in March
